Comprehensive French and English Education
By enrolling in our school and its International Program, students experience immersion in both a French and English-speaking environment while following the French national curriculum. This unique approach allows children to study English while benefiting from the rigorous teaching of the French system.
International Programme at Les Grillons
Our bilingual French-English International Programme is taught within the school’s International Section. Students who pass the English test upon entry can join this programme.
The International Sections, established by the French Ministry of Education in cooperation with partner countries, integrate not only language but also culture.
Language and Literature Education
In the elementary school, the program includes between 4 to 6 hours of specific English instruction per week. Subjects taught in English encompass language, literature, and other disciplines, depending on the class’s projects. Additionally, students follow the complete Francophone programme of the French national education system. Each year, students in the International Programme study several English books.
Seamless Transition to Secondary School
Continuity in the international programme is ensured at Jean Perrin Middle School and High School in the same neighbourhood, where the British English International Section continues. Thus, students completing their primary education with us can continue their international academic journey seamlessly in the same district.
Upon completing secondary school, they can take the baccalauréat français international (BFI).
Linguistic Development in Bilingual Classes
In our bilingual English-French classes, the focus is on developing students’ language skills in both languages. Our students have the chance to interact in a multicultural environment, enhancing their ability to understand and fluently communicate in English. They also have the opportunity to read and understand books from English literature, enriching their language and cultural comprehension.
Diverse Extracurricular Offerings
Beyond classroom instruction, our national and international programme actively encourages student participation in diverse extracurricular activities. Admissions Based on Language and Academic Criteria
Admission to our bilingual classes is reserved for children who are very curious, enjoy reading, have the capacity and the willingness to excel. The admission process includes language tests (written and/or oral) and a dossier. Tests can be conducted remotely if your family is not yet in Lyon.
Joining the International Section offers the right to a waiver of the school district, allowing students from Lyon and the surrounding municipalities to attend the school. The Saint Rambert neighbourhood is a very pleasant and family-friendly environment if you prefer to live close to the schools.
